That's a great one! What I like to do is check the major pattern sites, mark the ones I like, then search for them on ebay or wait for my local fabric store to have the $.99 pattern sale.

Ebay is also a great resource for Kwik Sew patterns which never go on sale. I got 8 kids KS patterns for $2. That was a find!
