Hi,
I'm new here. Just found the website, and chose Middle age spread even though my spread is over middle age :-).

Wonder if any of you seasoned seamstresses have worked with ultrasuede?
Thank you
Carolyn

You might get more answers about ultrasuede if you post in the sewing sections...General or Beginning...or Embroidery...whatever..

Theres no such thing as middle age anymore...just the spread part

TY for the suggestion. I had an ultrasuade (yes actually did) sofa made and have some left over fabric. It's heavy duty and I want to make some type of bag or purse out of it. Looking for some tips on u s sewing.
God bless you and yours.

CPNK,
Ultrasuede would be great for purses.. No worry about fraying and extra seam finishing .. I have made envelope purses from it before.. Worked great.. I would love to do more , but it is soooo expensive.. Shirley Adams (sewing expert, used to be on ETV for 200 + programs) did a lot of work with ultra suede.. Welcome to the site, you will love it here...

I once made an envelope-style cover for a keepsake book that was a gift. I meant it as a very fancy gift-wrap, thinking she could recycle it when she gives someone else a gift. The recipient was so excited about it though, she decided she'd always keep the book in the cover when not in use. That would have been really nice in ultrasuede. oohh---or one of those little journal covers with ties. Imagine opening a journal and feeling that soft ultrasuede every time?

A vest would be nice or a simple pocket book. Nope, no vest. I just realized it is quite heavy.

A vest would be ok, my Mom had a suit of ultra suede with skirt, jacket and vest, the back was a satin lining, so only the US in the front.

As far as being middle aged - I always figured middle age is 10 years older than you are now! Welcome to the clan!
