I'm searching the web trying to cross reference some colors in my Babylock manual to the Madeira thread I already have. However, I'm finding two different sets of Madeira numbers out there for polyneon colors. The threads I have are rather high numbers, 1600, 1700's 1800's and such. But on the Babylock website, as well as the Brothermall website, the thread cross reference charts list Madeira colors in the 1100's, 1200's & 1300s. Did Madeira change thier color line and renumber them? I know in the interior decorating world (my other passion) paint companies do that every few years, so an old paint chip can be confusing if you're trying to find a certain color. I'm making myself crazy with this. Is there a way out of my insanity? If the color numbers have changes, how can I cross reference them from the babylock numbers? Thanks! Maureen |

No the lower numbers are rayon colors and the higher numbers are their polyneon.

Chris is right. If your software isn't listing those colors you might need to update the solftware to get the most current color #s.

Thanks for the help. I'm not getting these numbers from any software I have, since I have none. I'm getting them straight from the Babylock website (and Brothermall...the maker of Babylock) and comparing them to the Babylock manual for my new machine. There is nowhere on either of those places that distinguish between the polyneon and rayon. Hmmm...I don't know how I could have ever figured that out myself! I think I just need to invest in a real hands on color chart! Thanks, Maureen |

A lot of people use a piece of software called MY Thread Box. It can be purchased with lifetime updates. I don't have it (unfortunatly) but I believe with updates it can be purchased for less than a hundred dollars online. As I understand, the updates are just online downloads.

Thanks Paraoper, I had forgotten about that. It is a wonderfull program that also keeps track of what threads you have and tells you where you have it stored it (which treadrack, thread box, etc.). When cross referencing it actually shows you the colors side by side so you can compare how close they really are, and much more.
