My Singer 9420, which has worked for years without a problem, recently made a terrible noise and stopped working. The Singer store near me said it was the "needle timing" which is quite an expensive repair.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem. I am pretty handy, but don't know where to bring to fix this problem.

Thank you!!

Its not as simple as it sounds. You must first determine why it jumped time. On that model it probably occured at the timing belt but could have at a gear.Depev

Depending on where it happened different adjustments are required. You will be better off letting the shop do it. Otherwise you may greatly increase what it will cost to correct the problem.
