Hi all,
My name is Kim, this really looks like a cool site where I can learn alot. I just got a Husqvarna/Viking Designer SE machine for Christmas. My hubby got it for me and so far I love it. I've just been playing with it and have figured out how to do some of the embroidery on it. I'm not really good with the downloading part of it but I think it will come in time. Well just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi.

Does any one you use Program fills...I'm not sure what you would use them for?

Hi Bren........the programable fills are used in large areas of an embroidery design.........instead of using the fill stitch which is what the design center automaically uses unless you choose the programable fill stitches........Donny

Some people do some incredible fills...like a heart fill that SOUNDS (when the machine is embroidering) like a heart beat....

Hey Donny, I haven't seen you on lately. Glad you see ya still emboriderying.

Programs fills are useful if you want to add design to your design. Take for instances, if you have a teddy bear instead of the regular fill stitches back and forth stitches on the machine you can use stitches that look like it has a nap to the design. Hope that helps Bren, instead of confusing you more.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Thank's ...but I have just one more little question... how do you add the fill to your design...or is this only used if you were to digitize a design??

Bren, what software are you using? It is usually in the tools but it is dependant on the software I am sure.

the fill-ins are used with pe design.you have to have that program to use them.Embird is for editing designs.I have used the programed fill in stitches with my pe design and they are fantastic.you can turn a plain jane design and really make it nice.the one thing i have found out with pe design ,is that you don't resize with embird.......your fill-ins become just regular fill-in stitches. You can copy it to pes format though with embird without any degregation.I hope this sounds understandable.........its early and i only got one eye open........Donny
