I am in search of a pattern for a plus cardigan style jacket pattern that does not button, zip, or otherwise fasten. I would like to to just hang loose. Does anybody know of such a pattern. I have been searching the net but all that I have found button.
Thanks
Gina

Thanks Dorothy,

I was thinking of doing that but I am doing a Mystery Jacket in a magazine and it is specific about getting a pattern with no buttons. I would hate to get all the way through and then have a problem because I didn't get the right sort of pattern.

Gina,
those economy patterns that all the big 3 sell all had a pattern like you are looking for.. I have bought several in the past.. Now, I haven't looked at them lately, but check there.. You know the ones I mean.. all are 1.99 or 2.49 for each pattern and are easy and simple designs.. Send me a pm if you cannot find one.. I can probably find a dup to spare and I'll mail one to you.. :bg: :bg:

Macphee Workshop has a really simple cardigan pattern that I really like. It is the AWEsome Jacket pattern #30 it is $6.98. I really like their patterns anyway.

So, Gina, have you started on the jacket yet? I'm really interested in how it goes. Is anyone else doing it? If I had a lot cotton I would join you. But I don't have the cotton or, I guess, the time. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Dorothy,

My mind has started but not my body. I am still trying to find the right pattern. I have a lot of pots on the burner. I just finished up a bunch of stuff for my niece and very first grand-nephew. I am also doing the fabric postcards in the same magazine, using up the scraps from the fabric bowls I made a Christmas time. I have an order from my friend and her daughter for scrubs that really need to get done first. I am still trying to set up my sewing room to accomodate the new embroidery machine Santa brought and my newly grown three year old who keeps bonking his head on the corner of the cutting table. I just don't know which machine should sit where.
Oh and I can't forget the stash challenge here on the site. I plan to use my scraps from that to do the mystery jacket. I will let you know when I start.

Gina, I did not get to PO today, but I will go Monday, I promise , to mail the pattern.. I have to go there, because I don't have an envelope large enough to hold a pattern.. You should get it by Thurs. or Fri. anyway..

Gina, Your pattern is in the mail.. I forgot Monday was a P.O. holiday, so I went this am and mailed it .. She said 3 days so you should get it Friday or Saturday.. I finally got a copy of that article.. I could not find my Mag..(I had help getting rid of clutter lately and I think somebody mistakenly thought that Mag. was clutter..) The pattern I sent looks just like the top sketch, not the one with the little stand up collar.. Have fun..I think I will try this also..I did not realize I had 3 or 4 patterns with this kind of jacket..

Thanks Libby,
I can't wait to get started. It would be fun to do this with someone and see what we both come up with.

Libby,

The pattern got here today. Thanks for the little extra you added  . I am sure I can put them to good use in the jacket. Do you think it would hurt to leave out the shoulder pads? I don't really care much for them.

Gina, I usually leave them out, and if I need to, I make the shoulder seam a little deeper to compensate.. My shoulders are square enough without added pads.. Glad you got the pattern.. and the extras.. Enjoy ! ! .. Got my new issue of Sewing Savvy today.. Thought of you when I saw one of the features.. Showed a yoyo with a jewel in the middle to make a flower embellishment in one of the articles.. :bg: :bg:
