I need help changing colors. I have the Janome 5700. When I use white in the bobbin wtih the color thread in the needle the white shows through on the design. What am I doing wrong. Thanks for your help.

It's a tension problem. Either the needle thread is not threaded correctly through the tension unit, or the bobbin thread is not led correctly through the bobbin tension.

I don't have that machine, so I don't know the details. Do you have the manual handy? Follow it to the letter to rethread the needle and bobbin thread.

Well I am no expert (just got my machine for Christmas) but this is what I have read. If your bobbin thread is showing on top, one your top tension is too tight or two you aren't using the right stabilizer.
Hope this helps you! Otherwise you can wait a bit and the more knowledgeable people will be along. :bluewink:

Try lowering your top tension first. If that doesn't work then your bobbin tension needs adjusting. I bought a second bobbincase for both of my embroidery machines so I don't have to mess with it anymore.

Thanks, everyone for your help.

I did it!

It was the upper tension, when I made the adjustment my monogram turned out beautiful!
