I was hoping someone would know a good book on fabric care. Not all of the bolts tell you what should be done and if you buy fabric at garage sales you may not know. I looked at Fabric Savvy and More Fabric Savvy from Sandra Betzina. I wanted to make sure this was a good investmant before I bought them. Thanks again for your help ladies!

I have Sandra Betzina's first book and was looking at the More book today in a shop. I use it a lot. There is another on the market, but I don't recall it's name. The best people to ask are those in fabric stores. The staff tell me they consult the books all the time. I did download a small book from a fabric site (search fabric use and care) which is very useful when I can find it, but Sandra's book has the advantage of talking about the type of things that are sewn with the fabric plus the needles and thread to use.

I have Claire Shaeffer's "Fabric Sewing Guide" (foreword by Nancy Zieman published by Shilton Book Co, Radnor, Pa. The date on mine is 1989 I would expect that it has been updated. It deals with fabrics, qualities, and care. It also give very detailed instructions for use in clothing applications. It was a very expensive book but it was money well spent.
