The post title says it all. My mom got fusible on her iron. What's the best way to get it off?

I did that last night to my iron. I save my used dryer sheets for this purpose. Just take a couple of the used dryer sheets and start ironing on them until the fusible gunk comes off the iron. It works for me everytime, even on my Rowenta that has a stainless steel sole plate.

Sometimes just ironing wax paper and then paper bags will do the trick too.

Dryer sheets. I am horrible about getting sticky stuff on my iron and dryer sheets always get it off. I also use a lot fo blue fabric and my iron bottom had a blueish tint that sometimes bled onto my lighter fabrics. The dryer sheet cleans that blue right off too.
