For my daughters birthday In march, I am going to " re-create" her " cold cover"
which is a name of a blanket she had until she was 7 or 8 years old,
at that time she lost it.. we never found it
she has never really stooped talking about it, or wanting me to make her one just like it. even at the age of 18..

So I have located some used sheets made out of the same fabric 18 years ago!

( this was a store bought set of crib sheets and a crib cover)

Which I will make into her " cold cover"

but now I need your help on the backing..

All I remember is that it was thin, white and a bit scratchey, I do not think it was a broad cloth.. I do rememer as it was washed a Lot.. the backing had this funny feel too it. like umm scratchey and catchey.. It was not shiney, but every dull looking.. can anyone point me to what type of fabric It could have been?

I think the top was made out of a cotton/poly blend
as it was smooth,

and can someone point me to a web site for the fabric..1.5 yards or 2 is all I will need

DustBunny it sounds like the fabric you're looking for is unbleached muslin or bleached white muslin.

Sounds like the cheap poly backing they use on 'some' bedspreads. They don't actually SEW to quilt it, it's heat sealed to LOOK like quilting.

Sew Sheer has the same feel, but it's not thick (it's used for bonding).

That sound about right ???

I am not sure, It was quilted with an Invisble nylon

since it looks like I cannot find the same I think using a broadcloth would work
