I am doing a denim quilt for my son with designs which depict certain areas of his life and found a policeman design which is too large for my 4 x 4 area. I downloaded Wilcom EMB,thinking I could resize it. Well, was I ever confused and overwhelmed after looking that program over.

I have read the posts about the use of these programs and everyone makes it sound so easy. How did you learn to use the programs? Does the program adjust the number of stitches automatically as it is reduced? I am sure more questions would pop up if I were brave enough to tackle it but I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions for an easy start with this program?

I sent an email to the contributor but it was returned saying the address does not exist so can't ask them to resize it. Have also searched other sites for a design but couldn't find one. May have to leave that one out.

I'm not sure what Wilcom does, I have never used it. As far as I know, the freebies don't actually resize, just change the formats. I used the 30 day trial of embrid to successfully resize designs, and will have to (gladly, it is worth it) actually buy the program the next time I need it. There are several yahoo groups/sites that deal with using embrid.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Melanie, thank you for responding. I have thought about getting Embird but wanted to get a little more experience with the machine and the last few days have surely given me that. I have had the machine a long time but haven't used it very much until just lately.

I heard about Willcom in a forum and decided to check it out but I am a bit intimidated by it and I know Embird would be the same right now. My son will be here this weekend so will get him to look at with me. Hope I don't have to tell him what I am doing.

Thank you again.
