I got a nice jump on the bedskirt today. This is to coordinate with the tufted headboard I have written about in an earlier thread. I got the bulk of the assembly done. I only stopped a few minutes ago, b/c I need to lay it on the box spring and measure for the hem, and there happens to be somebody sleeping in that bed at the moment! I guess this will have to wait I was going to make box pleats at the corners and in the middle of the sides, but then I got this new idea, _just_ as the lady at the fabric store was about to cut! ....I think they're going to throw a party at the fabric store when I finish this bedroom. haha Anyway, my idea: I made plain panels, with a small break in between instead of box pleats. I'm going to make gathers of organza (left over from the curtains) and insert them in the gaps from behind, so the organza peeks through the space in a streak of color (it's lavender shimmer organza). I also have... almost enough tassel trim to go around the bottom of each panel. I will have to go back to the store tomorrow, looking for more. Those poor ladies must be sick of me!

Yes, Bren. I'll have more pics. I need about one more big chunk of sewing time, and then I can finally put it on the bed. Two days in a row, DD has come home from preschool to find ehr mattress on the floor, and a work-in-progress on the boxspring! Working in these little fragments of time.... It's alright. I'm still having fun!

I completed the bedskirt yesterday morning. Outstanding: The bed is calling for a quilt, although I'm really not a quilter, folks. It seems like such a big undertaking... And we plan to paint a dresser and put on glass knobs and maybe paint-stamp something princessy on the dresser or a small section of wall. As usual, you'll have to view some pics you might have already seen, including the earlier phases of the project. princess bedroom photo gallery (http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?mode=fromshare&Uc=10nskech.44hth7dt&Uy=1as0e2&Ux=1) Andrea

Wow, what a nice fairy tale! A princess, a handsome prince, monkeys, purple shimmer and a shiny new palace. And they all lived happily ever after. Great work. Shelly Moon
