I am a little sad this morning; and surprisingly so because I don't really "know" any of these people...I enjoy sewing sites and have gained a wealth of knowledge and confidence from my "cyber friends." Like anything else, I tend to gravitate towards generosity and kindness...Having said that, this site and one other have been my mainstays...Occasionally, someone gets a little miffed but usually every one makes nice....Now the other site is having some really nasty stuff going on that is going to destroy it; because I think that it might get shut down....And it is always just one or two that have to have their opinion aired, etc, etc....I don't think that there is a moderator to step in and just pull the offensive posts like we do here..

For that, I would sincerely like to thank Mary for being our Dorm Mom and showing tough love when needed...If someone doesn't care for the format of the site, then perhaps another site would be more appropriate for them....

This had happened on another site that is still very active; but a few individuals who are now moderators just kinda took over and some of those posts were just plain ole mean!! And I was not one to get into the fray but once to ask the parties to be charitable....The response to that one was so self -serving and a slap in the face....

I am so hoping that someone will salvage the site that is undergoing turmoil...those friends are just as important to me as you all are...How many times have we prayed for each other or cried or just laughed so hard...

and do you know what surprises me the most??? That I care so much about this...and yes, I do have a life...job, husband, five grown kids, grands, etc....but there is something so special about you all...Mary W. is so kind, Jan and her groaner jokes, Suzie(MIL) , Lyn, Pam who patiently and always shares her wealth of sewing knowlege....well, all of you know what I mean...Can't list you all because this thread is getting too long...Sorry for the length...just a little sad is all...needed a cup of sewing coffee and hugs...Paula

don't be sad, think of us all like a family, even the happiest of families have differences of some sort at some time, the healthy families are just able to deal with it and flush it :bluewink:

i know what you mean about being part of some nasty sites, been there as well, it takes a great site owner, thank goodness for Mary, to be able to keep all us woman in check, and we have needed a few kicks here and there, but then we seem to all go on and regroup and continue to learn and grow with everyones experiences and advice.

(((((((((((((Paula))))))))))))))Here's my hug. Hang in there girl. They'll work it out, they always do. There's always some one in a bad mood and when two are in a bad mood this is what happens. Don't take it personel, You have been nothing but nice to all of us and I know your south La personality would never offend anyone intensionally so keep your head up and don't let that slap hurt you. (((((((((((((((((to you)))))))))))))))) Susie
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

There is always a sh*t disturber. They aren't fussy where they go or who they hurt. I am sure the other site will get back to normal.
