I was wondering if someone could help me with making a messenger bag. I would like to make one but not sure how to go about making a pattern and sewing it up. Any help will be great! |

Simplicity has a pattern ( but hold off buying it until the simplicity patterns go on sale for $1.99 at joann's on february 9-11th. the pattern number is 9000 I made one for my daughter, over christmas brake.. when buying the velcro you may have to buy the 1" sew on just double that up and use it as 2" as all the 2" velcro I found was glue.. which can gum up your sewing machine needle. some say that if you get the sales paper from joann's you can buy the patterns at walmart.. ( you just have to bring in the joann's sale paper with you) and make sure your there on that date.. and walmart will let you buy the pattern for 1.99 also. DB

I just saw this on tv. It may have been that DIY sewing show that had it on. Try this site. Lots of Stuff. (http://www.angelfire.com/trek/mypatternbox/freepatternlinks.html) Click for the patterns. There are other patterns, just do a search for free messenger bag pattern in google. I tried to link some more but when I click on the link it sends me to a Microsoft homepage. Hope that helps. |
