I just printed out instructions for an advent quilt, but I don't know what it is going to look like when finished.
I got all the info from belleonline.com (under craft , then quilts) I would like to see a picture of it. It is not a Christmas Advent Quilt
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT !!!!!

Janet - Welcome to Sew What's New. I am sure you will enjoy the site.

I don't have a picture for you but I had to check out an advent calender that wasn't Christmas. I have always considered advent the period of the year leading up to Christmas. Bellaonline is an interesting site. What specific quilt name are you looking for a picture? Once I got to quilts I didn't know where further to go.

Hi Sancin,
Yes I think I will like this forum too.
I think the quilt may be a SUNBONNET SUE ADVENT QUILT,
but not sure, I will be patient and maybe someone will be able to help me.
I really have a coule other quilts to get done before I start another one!!!!!
I have a grandaughter getting married in July ,need to make them a quilt, but have a quilt started for my daughter, must finish that one first.

I googled for Sunbonnet Sue quilt and came up with a Sunbonnet Sue web-site.

http://www.sunbonnetsue.com/

Here are the free patterns on that site.

Hope this helps.

I think she might have downloaded the pattern to Joanne's ADVENT quilt on this site. It was called ADVENT but really had nothing to do with the Advent season.

It had a Sunbonnet Sue and the Sunbonnet Sam block (only Jo called him *Barry"). So far there aren't any photos of the finished quilt that I know of, just pictures of some of the blocks. I would love to see some of the quilts to see how they all fit together. Anyone out there to help??

Were these the patterns that you downloaded and are looking for a picture of the finished quilt?

http://sew-whats-new.com/CMS/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=9&Itemid=32

If so, no one has posted a picture of the finished quilt yet. I still have two blocks to make before I can even put mine together. Got too many projects on the go.

Joannequilts, the person who created the block patterns, etc., posted pictures of everyone's blocks as they were sent to her. But last fall, Joanne under went surgery and has been recovering since then...so there have not been any recent additions. Here is the link to the site that has pictures of the blocks...

Hi Everyone, has been awhile since I posted. Surgery was pretty brutal, I won't go into details but I am still recovering from it all which is frustrating to say the least.

Now, as for the advent quilt lessons that were given last year. I was really hoping to have photos of completed tops at least to post in our album. Am I able to challenge anyone to do theirs so that we can have a photo of our finished project?

I also would like to take this time to thank the ladies that sent me all the wonderful get well cards and for Mary sending down my care package. Made me feel so good to see how many nice people that are out there to take the time to send good wishes. THANKYOU EVERYONE

It's great to hear from you Joanne. Glad you are back! Take your time recovering. Sorry I can't finish my Quilt. I got through the first few months then fell apart. The applique block threw me off. I think I might do more of the house & flower blocks & put those together.
Again glad you are back we missed you!!!

Welcome back Joanne!!!! Great to hear from you and know that you are "up and about"...and on the road to recovery. You have been missed!!!

I am guilty of not finishing my quilt...yet! See what happens when you aren't around to crack that whip. :bg: Other quilting projects and life has gotten in the way. I even made a NY's resolution not to start any other projects before finishing my UFOs...and of course I have to break that resolution. My niece is expecting a girl in May...so I thought I had lots of time to make something....until I found out last weekend that a shower will be held on March 4. So all good intentions are out the window and I now have to work on something new and the UFOs are on the back burner again.

Well enough of my sob story...just wanted to let you know that we are all glad to have you back on-line!

Hi Joann,

We really have missed you! I'm glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. I'm sorry to hear that it has been a long one. I haven't put the top together yet. I did finish the last block though. I will try to take a picture this weekend. It is on my to-do list to finish this quilt. (I also have two other quilts to finish).

Take care and don't be a stranger.
Happy sewing/quilting/crafting
Liz

Hi Joanne! So good to 'see' your voice!

I haven't done the last part yet. I picked out some fabrics but got distracted by other projects. I'm making the advent quilt specifically for one person, and I realized that I had forgotten one very important symbol that needs to be included. I haven't decided how to include it, so I have been putting off finishing the top. I will get it done, though!

I really appreciate everything you've done to encourage and promote quilting here.

Take good care of yourself, and I hope you will feel better soon.
Take care,
Donna
