I embroider with both the above referenced machines. I've always wound my own, but would like to consider pre-wounds. Any help in directing me would be appreciated. Can I use the same type/brand for both machines?

New to this forum today. Thanks for the help.

Prewound bobbins are not recommeded for the 200. I've heard differing reasons. It may have to do with the bobbin sensor in which case it might not be a problem in the 180. You might want to ask your dealer about that machine.

Welcome to the group. There are a lot of nice people here and always willing to help. I have learned a lot from this forum.

I was told, by the dealer, not to use pre-wound bobbins because of lint so I purchased plastic ones and fill five or six before starting. I have a Deco 650 (but dreaming) and I would imagine this would apply to all machines.

Have a wonderful day.

I just read on the Bernina boards that the Bernina company is so against the use of prewound bobbins in their machines that if the machines become damaged from their use, the warranty will be voided. I do not know if that concern extends to the deco model or not since they are made differently from the other machines.
