Ladies, I want to thank you for all of your suggestions for essential sewing supplies. Methinks we might have to get a U-Haul for all the stuff we're taking. :bg: It's not just sewing stuff, though--some of it is food (canned goods, etc) , clothing, and other necessary items for a possible 2 months in corporate quarters.

Moving day is finally here! Yay! The movers will come pack us tomorrow (Monday) and Tuesday and then load the truck Wednesday. I'm going to try to do some posting in my groups early tomorrow morning and then the craziness begins. I'm ready to get on the road and get this move behind me!

Hubby is still shaking his head about the fact that I am more protective of my sewing supplies (my embroidery hoops, machines, Bonfit patterners, etc.) than I am of my good furniture. :bolt:

Hope your move is a smooth one.
Remember to take time to relax while you are unpacking your belongings and getting your new place put together.
(hugs)
I just moved 3 weeks ago from CA to KY, so I can really sympathize! LOL!

Thanks, Jen!

We're having to take a ton of stuff with us because we are being housed in temporary, corporate housing for up to 2 months. Our stuff is going to be in storage in Maryland and we'll be in northern Virginia. I'm going from a lovely large 4 bedroom, 3 bath house to an apartment at first(corporate housing) and then if --and it's a big if because housing prices are extremely high there-- we can buy anything, it will be a townhome with a lot less room than we have here.

The good news is that we asked for a 2 bedroom apartment for the corporate housing, but they are letting us have a 3 bedroom for the same price--the folks in the 2 bedroom extended their stay. And the third bedroom won't be furnished so I can set that up as my sewing room! :bg:

Its wonderful that you are getting the 3 bedroom temporary quarters. My dh's job put him up in an extended stay for 3 months---and that entire time he was in KY and the 3 girls and I were in CA trying to get our home sold. He got to do the fun stuff like pick out the house, while we got to keep the house spotless for endless showings, and go on long walks around the neighborhood while people toured through our house.
You are blessed to be together :bluesmile
Sending wishes and prayers your way :bluesmile that you will find the perfect home within your budget and quickly.
