I just had to share my joy at our recent move from CA to KY.
My dh did an excellent job picking out our new house. The kids and I love it. He bought it, and other than pics over the internet, we didn't see it until we actually moved in on Jan 11th.

and I LOVE my sewing area, it is in the great room which is the biggest room in the house--it even has a gigantic walk-in-closet- YAY! :bg:

But the absolute best thing of all is that our kids are all so very happy, they have made tons of new friends, even the formerly sullen 13 yr old--she is so happy here. And my dh no longer has to drive 3 hrs a day to work--his commute is now 20 mins each way.
We are so thankful to God for all of these blessings. I just had to share my joy with all of you who followed our year of looking for a way out of LA (los angeles).

A beautiful house, and am sure by now it is a home. Your shock factor was similar to mine years ago when I moved from So. CA to Omaha, NE. Had 2 daughters 16 & 18. The 16 year old was a typical "valley girl"! Was so surprised at the ease that they accepted the changes! Hope your daughters are able to slide into their new life too! Where are you in KY? I lived in Louisville and in No. KY, both beautiful areas.

Wonderful, so glad to hear you like your house and the kids are happy. That means everything. Any move is hard on a teenager. I know, we did a few of those. The sewing room sounds wonderful.

I see you have snow. We got a dusting of it Sunday morning here in AL.

Congrats on your new house! And I love your sewing room, too! (I have Janomes as well.)

I'm glad your move went smoothly. And it's nice to hear your teens are happy. Ours is going now--LOL--the movers are here packing and I'm just trying to stay out of the way right now.

Thank you
Janomes are my FAVORITE :bg:
I lusted after the 300e (embroidery machine) for an entire year, then when we found out we were moving, dh used a portion of the equity from the close to buy it for me. What a sweetie! It was sitting on my in my new kitchen on the countertop when we arrived. I just started playing with it last week. It is soooo much fun!!!! I've made 4 purses so far for my 3 dds. And I've been downloading designs like crazy off the internet.
The coolest thing is that I can find more "tomboyish" designs for middle dd to put on her purses and clothing. I found a pirate flag and a maltese cross, and she is so excited!!!
I know how annoying the whole pack out process can be. Although it is a huge blessing when you don't have to pack yourself. I was hugely relieved to see my sewing machines all arrive without a scratch, and that all my patterns and fabric found their way here. Other than that and a collection of porcelain angels I have, I wasn't at all concerned about the rest. lol!

PS: Bama, I am LOVING the snow--and so are our 2 Saint Bernards!!!!!
Will be relieved though once our property is fenced--we are on a 2 week waiting list with the fencing company, and it is a pain to take them out constantly in the cold. Especially since the "big" furball loves to go outside just to lick up the snow. She'll just sit at the window and whine to go out and gnash on snow--she is such a dork!!!!!

Beautiful home! Love your sewing area. What a sweetie your husband is to buy you a new machine and find you such great digs. Glad all the children are settling in and that you are all enjoying more time with each other.

Your hubby is a keeper, good job picking the house! I love your sewing room too. Just a few more weeks till I get my own, but seems like a lifetime.
I have to tell you, I laugh so much everytime I look at the picture of your dogs on the couch - it is just priceless. I would imagine they are loving the snow. Glad your move went well.

I'm addicted to downloading designs off the internet too....mostly Asian, but just about anything that tickles my fancy. (I have the 300E, 10000 (upgraded) and the 11000. Try these sites...if you haven't already....

www.zundtdesign.com

www.oregonpatchworks.com

www.embroideryonline.com

www.embroidery.com

www.emblibrary.com

www.bfc-creations.com

www.advanced-embroidery-designs.com

www.hatchedinafrica.com

www.elsasdesigns.com

www.suebox.com

www.skeldalehouse.com

www.needlepassionembroidery.com

I belong to sites in Yahoo (plus the sites themselves almost always have freebies) that give you free designs. (if you belong to the sites of the Designers, they often give you LOTS of freebies in their files).
