I think theres a post up in Machine Talk about that...it's not the first recall for Viking machines...they like to catch fire. I thought they'd fixed it LAST time they were recalled...I guess not.

Not all D1's are being recalled. Only those that match up with serial numbers posted in the consumer digest recall message. I was glad to learn that my D1 did not fall into this category. My dealer contacted me to let me know I should be okay since they had my serial number and knew which ones they had sold that matched those serial numbers. Sorry to hear that others will have to have theirs recalled. I have had great success with my machine. I have had Janomes, have the 300e now. I also had Brother and older version of Janome.
