I have discovered a new use for my quilting rulers - cutting perfectly square marzipan. Sitting in the kitchen are now 2 regimentally square marzipanned cakes one 10" x 10" x 2.25" the other 8" x8" x2.25" awesome. I leave that to dry for a week and then the first of the 3 layers of icing go on.... I think the cakes will have cost me £50 to make at the most - If you BUY them you are looking a £240 minimum - I Rock! :bg: and I am now off for :coffee2:

Ahhh ... A bit like my husband's idea of using a rotary cutter for pizza. (I wouldn't let him).

Good idea Jan.
My YS found a BAD idea for using my mat and rotary cutter. To cut screening for the windows. He did it, didn't tell me. I went to use them and wonder what had happen to them, he fessed up, then found out how expensive it is to replace them.

sheesh Summer, he lived to tell the tale?
My pizza cutter looks like a rotary cutter Dorothy - can you imagine the mess on the cutting mat?

Only after he went to the store with me and paid for the replacement of mat and blade. I was nice and let him use my discount as an employee, but not my coupon for % off. He uses the ruin mat for cutting with an Exacto knife.
