I am working on a pattern that says " Sew invisibly along inner edge". I've never run into the term 'sew invisibly' before. Can someone clue me in?? Heather |

I assume this is for hand sewing. Tiny stitches just barely catching the fabric is what I would translate to invisible sewing.

It is for the folded edge of a bodice back, I've never hand sewed this before just blind hems, etc. heather |

I wonder if it's this: Sometimes once you've sewn the seam of the bodice and its lining, you can stitch the seam allowances to the lining, very close to the seam, but not catching the fashion side. Usually it is done along the neckline. This keeps the lining from peeking out above the neckline. The stitches are now invisible from the right side of the garment (as opposed to top stitching, which asccomplishes the same thing, but is visible). Take another look at the picture in the instructions. Does the picture seem to go with what I have described?
