Have you tried puting the bobbin in correctly. Some go clockwise, some counter clockwise and always make sure the bobbin thread is in it's tension bar (the one on the bobbin case, where the little slots are). Also make sure the top thread is threaded properly. If you don't get it into all the tension disc's and thread take up's, you have many problems.

I recently sold my own 150.. it went to a nice home in Kentucky, LOL... the 150'[s are regular little work horses.... my suggestions to you would be, first... rethread completely and reseat the bobbin.. making sure, as previously mentioned that the bobbin thread is threaded in the correct direction, if neither of those ideas work.. try a different bobbin.. on occasion, if a bobbin is poorly wound (and even pre-wounds can be poorly wound) it will cause this kind of problem... also make sure you have cleaned the bobbin case completely, this means taking hte case out and really cleaning in there very well... even a little piece of thread can cause a big problem...

Like everyone has already said it sounds like a threading problem. Check and make sure there are no needle holes in the bobbincase. That machine, like all Brother - made Embroidery machines is very unforgiving. Misthreading even once can cause the bobbincase to spin and be permanantly damaged. Also make sure the needle does not have a bur on it.
Good luck
Have fun or don't do it, Tom
