This is a really old pattern - Simplicity #5082 "Super Jiffy Wrap and Tie Pantskirt". Did you ever make these and if so do you still have the pattern ?
I would buy it or pay you to make a copy for me.
I know this is a probably a lost cause - the pattern is many years old - but hope springs eternal ! !

I had to look this up, b/c I ws dying to see the style!
Relatively inexpensive, except for the cost of shipping to Quebec. jiffy pants pattern (http://www.ioffer.com/i/Simplicity-5082-Jiffy-Wrap-Pantskirt-Sewing-Pattern-New-10175408) But I have seen these pants in so many places, I can't help thinking you can find a pattern locally, different pattern number of course, that would get the same job done.

Thank you Andrea - quick work!
I haven't seen any patterns similar to this in the catalogues so will order this one.

Thank you MJH - that's the one, but I have already devised my own which seems to work quite well. I just took a straight leg pants pattern and added extensions to the side seams. Where there's a will ther's a way!

Try these places Lise - the sewing patterns com has all pattern companies so you can scan through a lot rather than searching.

Folkwear Pattern # 131 -Tibetan pants

Good Luck - I made myself a pair of these years ago and found them uncomfortable so threw the patten out.

Lise - Were you pleased with the adaptions you made to regular pattern? I found on my computer today a file in Adobe Format that explains how to make wrap pants. As I cannot attach files (or at least I don't know how to) if you want the pattern PM me with your email address and I will send it as an attachment.

Friends, I just purchased a brand new pattern with these pants the last time Hancocks had 1.99 patterns.. Had a halter top , cover up, and the pants.. (this time around they are calling them "Island Pants" ).. last time I remember buying a pattern was about 25 years ago or maybe 30.. I loved the pants made from lightweight summer fabrics.. My new pattern has rounded edges or traditional square edges on the pant legs.. I cannot wait to make them..

Hi Libby,
Can you tell us who made the pattern and the number. The rounded corners sound intrigueing.

Simplicity offers two current patterns with "wrap around" island pants. Both patterns also include tops. Numbers 5508 and 4192.

Simplicity 4192 is my pattern .. I love it... I am making the halter right now for a friends DGD.. who is very well endowed in the chest and very tiny everywhere else, so I am cutting the fabric from the largest size so that they will give her some modesty.. I intend to make my pants next..

Thank you to everyone who offered info re this search. I tried the Simplicity site but was unable to find either pattern since there was nowhere to order or view by number. I tried under various categories ,|- Pants, Skirts even Costumes without success. I may just have to go to one of the fabric stores and look at the Simplicity book.

I hope this link works for you! simplicity pants (http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?page=design_linkEmail.cfm&design=4192) I _think_ it's the sort of design you were describing. When I looked for it on the Simplicity website, I couldn't find it. But I saw it last night in an email, which was Simplicity's e-newsletter. Luckily my Recently Deleted Mail hadn't auto-purged yet!

Thank you everybody for trying to help but nothing works. I will go to a store and look at the printed catalogue. It would be just my luck to find that another frustrated sewer has torn out the page !

I've made the Simplicity 4192. I used a soft rayon in cream - I made them skirt length by altering the pattern - so I could wear them to work. I love them!

I plan to make another pair and add some length on to make them full length pants.
