Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with this machine? Quantum XL-6000 Embroidery Machine by Singer® (http://www.shoppingbulletin.com)
The reviews look good. I am thinking that this is a good deal. ?

Thanks,
Erin

Hi, Erin
Welcome to this message board. I have a Singer XL1000. It has been an ejoyable experience except once when it broke down I had a devil of a time with service. My machine traveled to several states and got worked on at different singer plants and still was not fixed. Getting it replaced was very difficult. If it was not for a person who went above and beyond their job, I do not know how long it would have been before I it all got settled. The work it puts out is great. This may have been a fluke. But, my advice is to find out what the service situation is before buying. I know this is a big step for you.

Erin, I agree with Kitty 100%. The 6000 is a good machine but make sure you have a local dealer that not only can service it but will go to bat for you should you have a problem like Kitty did. This really holds true with any machine but there are not very many dealers that are really trained on that machine. Singer is not making training very accessable to dealers anymore.
If your machine will have to be sent off you would probably be better off with another machine.
Have fun or don't do it, Tom

I have this machine and love it. It sews and embroideries beautiful. I've had it a year and have had no problems with it. My Janome 9000 froze up and I had the same problem getting it fixed as someone else mentioned. All Brands ( not my dealer I purchases it from orginally) finally fixed it for me and it's just fine now. With any machine make sure you have tech support nearby and lessons locally. It helps to have those in place for the brand you buy.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.
