okay fellow sewers.... help me out! I was asked if I would like a couple of boxes of patterns. (A former co-worker had passed away and her family was trying to clean out her sewing room) I figured I could offer them to all of you on this site.
Well the "couple of boxes" arrived this weekend. They filled the back of a pick-up truck! For 50 years she sewed for all ages, all sizes and many have never been used. I noticed some do not have envelopes on them so you would have to guess at your yardage. Some are really old, I saw one box that is full of the "mail order 10cent" patterns.
I can try and sort thru the boxes somewhat to get you whatever sizes or style of pattern you would like and if you want 10, 20, 50, 100, patterns I will send them out if you are willing to pay the shipping fees.
If someone has any other ideas on how I can disperse all these patterns I am open to suggestions.

Hi,
Are there any infant patterns? Sizes preemie to 12 months?
Have you thought about selling them on EBay?
If so, do your research and see what similar patterns are selling for on EBay.
Have a Good Day!
Brenda

Hi,

I'd be really interested in some of your patterns. That is so cool! I make primarily children's clothing, sizes from nb-14 so would be thrilled with any in that range, I love vintage patterns all the way through modern so style wouldn't matter so much. I could send you a money order to cover shipping if you could email me with your address. My email is: <email address removed for privacy>.

Thanks again!

I would love to find a jacket pattern that I made in the 70's. Think it was Simplicity. Jacket had a mandarin color and was hip length. 2 pockets on the front and one set of buttons going from collar down the front. Would need a size 14/16. Can't remember if a skirt or pants were included in the pattern. I know this isn't much to go on when you have a truck full of patterns:) I outgrew the size I had and gave it to church gargage sale-lol I'll continue to check this forum. Thanks. Pat

Wow - what a pattern stash! Quite a little treasure trove. I'd be happy to cover the shipping if you'd like to send a box my way! I love vintage patterns and sew home dec stuff as well as garments for family and friends. Just tell me how much to ship to Houston! I could send you a money order or I have a paypal account if that's easier.

Please email me at <email address removed for privacy> and tell me what you prefer.

thanks!

My daughter is a swing and ballroom dancer with a group that performs a USO type show. I would be interested in some 1940 - 1955 vintage dresses. The hemline would need to allow for large leg movements. Also, anything, especially wide legged pants, that looks like might be worn at a 40's - 50's dance night. I also am the decendant of milliners and love to sew hats, if you see any patterns for those.

I'd be very happy to send yo a money order for the shipping. Please email me privately. <email address removed for privacy>

Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing these patterns! :-)

I might be able to park my car back in the garage some day! I will have time this weekend to sort thru what is there and will let you all know what I have. I am so glad that I will be able to put at least some of these patterns to good use. and don't worry, I haven't run out of patterns yet, I would guess there are over a 1000 there.

Hi, I am new here, but I would be interested. I mostly sew crafts, my specialty is purses, but I do occasionally sew for my dd (so size 6 and up=who loves to dress old fashion) and myself (size 16). However, I would be willing to take more patterns, I am a military wife and live oversees and to get patterns over here is a bit difficult so I would love to share with other ladies around here. My email is <email address removed for privacy>. I could either pay w/ money order or paypal. I probally can't pay more then 10 or 15 for shipping so that may limit me. Thanks for the offer.

as I am going thru the many boxes of patterns I came across one that is maternity patterns, mainly size 10 and 12. any one interested? also still taking requests for patterns, these are mainly clothing patterns that I can see so far.... who knows I have only gone thru about 8 boxes so far.
Also found a box of mens patterns, ladies patterns size 16 thru 24 and one of bridal- formal patterns. there is also a fair amount of boys patterns.
HELP me fellow sewers... I now have my garage back but have lost my living room under heaps of patterns!

I may have found a pattern that is very much like the one you are looking for, except this one doesn't have buttons down the front, it has those "frog" closures. If you give me your email address I will scan the pattern and and you can see if it's the one you are looking for or if it will work for you.

Grandmasue:

I would be happy to buy some of your patterns, especially women's sizes 18-22.

If sorting gets you down, you could make up "surprise packages" of assorted styles and sizes and sell them on ebay. I think it would be fun to try and decide what you could make next.

Thanks for the offer. Just let us know what to do next when it is time.

Hi to everybody, as I've just joined this site!

I would love to take about 2 dozen assorted patterns out of your livingroom! Please email me at <email address removed for privacy> and we can work out shipping $ and details. You deserve a big hug for 'rescuing' this collection instead of just letting it be thrown away.

Just a suggestion to all for some of the older &/or unusable patterns - I've taken vintage pattern envelopes and framed them in inexpensive poster frames with a background of tissue pattern pieces (along with other older sewing notions). I've hung a couple in my sewing/guest room and I've given them to other sewers as gifts.

Wow...that's a lot of patterns, or so it sounds. If you have any left after all these other requests, I would gladly take some. Don't cut someone else short on my account though. I would like any patterns boys size 7-9 girls size7-9 womens size 12-14 or men's (ummm is 2x a size?) My husband wears 2x t-shirts and they are a bit big on him if that tells you anything. The only patterns I've bought for him list l 1x 2x and so on. I do know the simplicity patterns I have show him at a large or smaller. Anyway, also, any other girls patterns, I would gladly take off your hands. My daughter competes in a few pageants and she and other girls are always in need of affordable clothing.

You can e-mail me if you still have any at <email address removed for privacy>

Thanks for offering these.

Hi ladies, I just wanted to let you all know that I am still working on sorting and boxing up the patterns. Between my job and sick family I haven't had as much as spare time as I would have liked to get your patterns sorted and in the mail but I am plugging away at it. I've managed to eliminate 2 of the 8 boxes so far. thank you for your requests!

grandmasue,
I framed several vintage pattern envelopes and have them hanging on the wall in my sewing room. I put the actual patterns in baggies and have them stored in the closet. Just an idea for you since you have so many.
If you have any vintage patterns left, I would be interested if you want to sell them or trade for something else.
You are so generous to offer these to everybody.

First I must say how sorry I am for posting and then not getting back to anyone. I have fought with bouts of depression for many years but this year I got hit HARD. As the sun shines more each day I am slowly getting better and with an adjustment in my meds I should be back to "okay" soon.

I still have all the patterns here. Some are boxed, ready to go... others I wasn't fully clear on what your needs were, like size, style, boy, girl.... Many I didn't get an address for, I am ready to give this a try again, and with your patience I hopefully will get these boxes out of my living room.

I have a question for all of you who put in requests for "vintage" patterns. What years are we talking about when refering to vintage? Any patterns I have left are now from 70's on up to present.

Addresses and requests can be sent to my email directly please.
<email address removed for privacy>

Again my apoligies to all who replied, Several bad weeks of life ganged up on me all at once and sent me falling downwards fast. but I am tougher than it and I will be back!

Sincerely, Sue

I was waiting for others to post before I publicly said THANK YOU!!!!!! Mine arrived last weekend (per my email to you) and I am just in pattern heaven!!! The boys patterns are all wonderful, even the older ones from the 70's  I'm going through my stash to see what fabrics I already have that I can start using with my new treasures! You were so thoughtful and kind to offer this to all of us...I can't say Thank You enough! When I get my first garment made with one of them I'll post a pic for you.

Watch your mail! (thehehehe)

I only felt bad because of my own self-imposed "should-a-done" and "meant-to-do-earlier". I am grateful to you.

Hopefully the missing boxes will arrive shortly.

grandmasue I sent you a private message. I'm interested in patterns for non clothing items. Like pillows, purses/totebags, children's toys and such.

Thanks,

thank you for the new requests! I am in the process of trying to track down a missing shipment and if I can't find it I will first replace it and then ship what I have left to those who have requested. Many thanks to all who have helped me recover my living room!

I have a cousin that sews professionally, but she also sews for the high school drama. That would be somewhere to check with. She is always needing patterns for clothes for the plays. A local theatre might need them also. If your local high school or Vocational school has a home economics department or even a junior high may have a need. A local mental disabilities program might have a need for them. Not saying that someone out here wouldn't have a use for them but there are other places that might be able to use them or some of them. We have a place here in Dayton, OH called Booneshoft that has a play area for kids. It is a planetarium/museum/natural history set up and has a lot of interactive things for the kids to do. Something like that may need some older style clothes. I know the Boston chidren's museum had a set up like that when I was there about 20 years ago. If there is any Square dance attire in there, or western cut clothing/ men's or women's let me know. I may be interested.

Thanks,

Gail

Although I live at a residence for retired priests next to a college campus, which the students irreverendly refer to as 'The Home for Unwed Fathers' I don't think I will have any call for your maternity patterns. I would, however, like to try my hand at sewing some atheletic wear, jogging suits, work-out shorts, swim suits, etc. I've seen a number of patterns for rugby shirts but never one for rugby shorts! Like baby pigeons and baby crows, there are rumors that they do exist but seeing one is a rare event. If you come upon patterns for college sports types I would be happy to pay the expense of sending them on to me. Thank you. Roy

I wouldn't mind patterns size 12-16 womens from the 60-70's if you have some. Postage is no problem. My mom is teaching me garment sewing, which I never liked: but now want to learn! Thanks, Gena

Hi Grandma Sue
I know this is pretty late and I just got to posting. If you have any little girls 70's patterns for size 2 or 3 I would love it. Any other years would be great too. Thank you for your generosity and if available let me know how much for shipping.

What an undertaking you have taken on! I would love to be included in your list for children's, little girls or babies, patterns. My email addres is:
<email address removed for privacy> I will take as many as you wish to part with. I noticed there are several of us who are interested in the same type. I will gladly pay for shipping and whatever it takes for you to package them up.
BTW, E-Bay is a great way to sell these if that would be helpful.

Hi, GrandmaSue....

I would LOVE a few of the maternity patterns for sizes 12-16, especially if they are 'professional' type combination clothing that is appropriate for court.

Also, if you have ANY idea; I am in search of McCall's #7989 in an 18-20. I know that's asking a lot, but if YOU don't have it, perhaps another member reading this does.

Thanks for the generous offer! Paying postage is NO problem

If you have any, I'd love to get hold of any Kwik Sew patterns for woven fabric (I think I already have all the stretch ones) that are for girls 8+ or ladies 12-14 range.

I'm in Australia so I'm not sure how expensive that makes postage but I'm probably good up to about $25 of your dollars.

Have PMed you with my email details.

Hope you get to see the floor again.

Cheers, Pauline
