How do you stop ribbon ends fraying? Is there a kind of soft glue that's good to dip them in? Katie |

If it is like grosgrain or satin ribbon I usually either cut at an angle (most often), fold and cut upward at the center (like a chevron) or pink the edges. If I sew it into a seam I usually fold that end of the ribbon before I sew it. That seems to keep it from fraying to the seam line and pulling out. I also fold under the edge if applying it to the outside of something. You can use Fray Check but I don't like the way it makes the edges of the ribbon feel and I have had it yellow some fabrics. Sometimes I just tie a knot in very small ribbon which adds a different type of dimension to the trim. If it is something heavy like strapping that is nylon, I melt the edges. pam

Hi Katie...there is a product called Dritz Fray Check that I use all the time and love it. I get mine at Joanns but I am sure that any sewing/quilting/fabric store would have it. Good Luck!
If I had known that grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first!!
