I am new to sewing and my husband just got me a brother CS-6000 computer sewing machine. I have used it a few times but now its grabbing the top thread somehow and its bunching up under the plate under the foot the bottom threads not sewing at all....I have fixed it(i thought) a couple times by cutting the thread and cleaning it all out for it to just do it again...can anybody help me figure this out??? Do you have your machine theaded straight. WITH the the needle UP. Do you have you bobbin in correctly. (some go clockwise, others counter clockwise) Make sure the thread is in ALL the tension discs and the thread is in the takeup (the part that goes up and down.).

My machine did that when I accidentally threaded it with the presser foot down and the top thread didn't go through the tension right. Try rethreading from the beginning and make sure the foot is up when you go through the tension.

The problem you descibed is most often caused by misthreading the top thread or threading with the presser foot down. The bad thing is that often when this happens the bobbincase spins and is ruined by the needle. Once this happens you will continue to have thread balling up underneath the throat plate. Check for needle perforations on the upper right hand side of the bobbincase(it is easier to see them from the back of the bobbincase). If they are there you will need to replace it.
Have fun or don't do it, Tom
