My son was changing a light bulb on the porch for me and I hear a loud deisel truck slowing down in front my house and it turned in my driveway. So I'm curious who this might be. Well the two ladies get out and I'm thinking they must know me they are both getting out the truck, YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS It's Bren all the way from Canada!!!!!!!!! She found me all the way out here in the sticks!!!!!! I was so happy to see her and she is as lovely in person as she is on the boards. I am going to visit with her tomorrow at her friends house that lives about two miles from me. Actually it's her ex sister in law but she told me it's more like sisters then ex's. I'm so excited. I'll have to get in be early tonight so I can spend some time with them. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow night.     Can you tell I'm excited???????????
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Wow Susie! I bet that was sew exciting! Tell Bren HI! Have fun tomorrow. We are going to be driving through your neck of the woods on a trip to Florida for spring break. Maybe I'll hunt you down and stop too!

Susie, I'm thrilled for you. What a wonderful surprise. I know that you & Bren have been friends for quite sometime & now you finally get to meet each other in person. WOW !!!! Happy for you both.

I knew it was her right off. She looks just like she does in her pics. I can't wait for tomorrow so I'm going to bed now. I'll let you all know all about tomorrow. Wow I'm still all hyped up.

Bren is staying about 10 miles from me at here SIL's house. I went there today and spent some time with her but my life is so hectic with these kids I didn't get to spend but about 3 hours with her. I am going back tomorrow for a while. We took pics and that little stinky is lurking on here because when I told her I opened this post she told me she knew she was on the boards this morning. She has internet where she is. BRENNNN you better speak up. she had pics of us together she said she was going to post on here. She is as lovely in person as she is on the boards. Full of fun. Down to earth. I'll tell you tomorrow what we do. Bama, I knew it was her as soon as she came in the light of my porch light and she said she knew it was me way out from the street because I'm so short. I was shocked when I saw her. This week is so hectic, we go to court with my son on Friday in Chalmette for custody of his daughter and the lawyer has set an appointment up every evening for us to come talk to her and she keeps cancelling. He has custody and the Mom wants the child back so she's taking him to court. The child don't want to go back to Chalmette with her Mother. Now I have to go tomorrow if we can get her on the phone to make another appointment and then Friday we go to court. Then Bren is leaving on Saturday morning to go home.  I'm going to try to take her out to eat on Friday night if I can get back here early enough. We'll see what happens.

Yeah Susie, get Bren some "bawled" crawfish. Or at least some Louisiana boiled shrimp or crabs. My BIL said crawfish is expensive right now. Or better yet, take her to get a po' boy! mmmmmmmmm....... That's my favorite when we go to La. |

No crawfish this time Bama. I have been feeling like a dog trying to catch his tail since she got here. I went over to visit with her on Wednesday for about 3 or 4 hours and then I had to go visit with my sons lawyer on Thursday for court today in Chalmette. Then I came home tonight and tried to call her and they didn't answer so I waited and then finally she called me and I went over to visit with her until around 11:00 tonight. We laughted till we hurt talking and making fun at ourselves. They told me stories her and Randy about things that happened to them and I told them stories about things that happened to me in the past, Laughing about all kinds of crazy things we do. I wish I had another week with her and this time my family can just go away for the week so I can have fun. I tried getting her a king cake but I couldn't get her one. The famous ones in Chalmette were flooded out but I have a nephew who is helping them bake in a secret location to distribute around the area in local stores but they didn't have any on hand until tomorrow and she will be already gone by the time they are ready so I'll just have to wait until next year or get one and mail in express. she's coming back next year and this time I am going to block the whole week I hope so I can take them all over the place sightseeing. I did get good news today, My son remains domilcile parent for his daughter. Hallelujah The court says she is going fine with him and she will remain with him.

I just read this post, WOW, what a great surprise. I bet Bren loved jumping outta that truck in your driveway. I'm so glad you had a good time together. That's what friends are for. (remember that song) Glad your son is still with his daughter, good for him.

I quess it is about time I posted ...I was so excited to meet Susie... While my exsister inlaw and I were on our way to Susie's place trying to see the right numbers...it was dark as could be out there ...there was a big white truck behind us and we were crawling along so we wouldn't miss the numbers...and we find out after it was her son Bubba...I bet he wanted to yell at us for going so slow ...anyway i see Susie on her deck which is very nice ...she must of stretched her neck trying to see who it was ...I could hardly breath as we got closer ...I just asked her if she had a cup of coffee !!!and she stared at me for a minute ...then when it registered... she was yelling!!! and we were hugging and hugging ...she is so real ...I just love her ...and she is so darn friendly... a real sweat heart...it was one of my heart desires to meet her...and thanks to my wonderful hubby Randy... he gave me the opportunity to do just that... I will see her next year and we will do more together ...I surprised her... so plans were already made...but I got what I wanted ...was just to meet her and give her a big hug...she is alive and wonderful...and now I know how she got threw Katrina...She is one strong Lady...and deserves nothing but the best in life... Lucky me!!!

Bren we must have been a sight!!! Both of squeeling like school girls. I never laughted so hard in a long long time. Bren and her sisterinlaw had us in stitches, lets just say if you ever have a sleep over at Bren's house don't let her around the knives with the lights off. ROFL Seriously, She and her husband are so nice and calm speaking. A lot of fun to be with and I just loved seeing her in person. I must have sounded like "Ralph Mouth" with all my foolishness. When I get excited I start getting louder and louder when I talk. Her poor sister in law's husband had to go to work and poor thing was trying to sleep and I think I woke him up. It was only 12:00 midnight when I left there.  We'll have more time next time Bud!!!

Thanks for the congrats on the granddaughter. She is doing very well with him I think the judge made a good decision too.

Laura don't cry. We had a blast together. We always said just the way we got along on the boards that we must be "a meant to be friendship" and we were right. It's like we knew each other all our lives. Mary I guess it's about time we thank you, if it weren't for these boards I guess we might not have meet each other. So here it is a big "THANK YOU"!!!!! Susie, sounds like you and Bren had a great time together.. Did you hear the news.. Charlotte, (my town) has been picked for the NASCAR Hall of Fame.. To be completed in 2009-- I bet soon after it opens, maybe I will get a surprise visit.. (if I'm lucky) I just know Bren will want to come here for a visit to that.. LOL Sew With Love

Libby, It was such a nice surprise she came all the way out her way just to see me and her EX SIL. If it has something to do with NASCAR Randy will take her to Charlotte I'm sure he loves the races. He is such a nice man also, very soft spoken, I think I scared him with my big mouth. And Bren is such a classy lady.

That's cool Bama. That's right across the river from Baton Rouge isn't it? We can have a ball in all the Hancock store they have in BR. They have three of them. Then I can show you all these wonderful shops in my neck of the woods. Which way do you come down when you come from home? 55 or 10? I'm not far from 55 Better let me know in advance so what happened to me and Brenda don't happen again. The kids had me hopping and I didn't get to take her anywhere. I think we go down I-10 Susie. Hubby always drives. It's not far from BR. My SIL works there. She said the next time we go, she'll show me a quilt shop that's in BR. She didn't mention they have 3 Hancock Fabrics.  We won't be going any time soon, but you never know about this summer. I'll be sure to tell you way in advance. Would love to meet you in person. |

I bet you do come I-10. Probably I-10 to I-12 and then into BR and across the river. Let me know in advance and I'll sure meet you in BR, tell your SIL I'd love to learn where that quilt place is myself. I'm about 45 mins from BR. Bren surprised me and I didn't get a chance to clear my calendar with these kids but we still got to have a few hours of being together.
