Making a vest with short zipper in front.

How do I make a perfect little square at the bottom of a zipper? I don't know how to cut the fabric and sew it without having some raw edges show at the bottom.

See the bottom on the photo/bottom of zipper in photo, how do I avoid having the edges look raw? I have to fold under the raw edges where I cut so some of the zipper will show.

centered zipper application (http://www.taunton.com/threads/pages/t00168.asp) This might help. Just the part about the _centred_ zipper application.
Or try this one (http://www.cahe.nmsu.edu/pubs/_c/C-221.pdf) It's a little more step-by-step.
Good luck!
