Hi, Ladies! I haven't had time to catch up, except on a few threads. We finally made it to our new state of Virginia yesterday. The computer is hooked up, but the sewing machine isn't---yet. Hubby did tell me that he plans to take me to a local fabric store soon. At the moment we're in temporary quarters and will need to start looking for a permanent place soon. Right now we're both very tired. My furniture and most of my stuff is in storage in Maryland, but I knew what was important and brought my sewing machine and serger. (I took a tip from Susie. ) I've got a lot to do today, but hope to catch up here soon and at least read about sewing for a couple of days. |

I'm so glad you arrived safe and sane Hope your sewing machines are up and humming soon. Enjoy exploring your new fabric stores. (I still haven't gotten a chance to visit mine -- hopefully next week) Virginia looks like a very fun place to live... close to alot of things, and lots of opportunity to explore the past. If you are interested at all in historical re-enactments, I think there are lots of groups there to join. Jen |

I just noticed that I couldn't even spell the state correctly this morning! I really do know how to spell "Virginia"! LOL It seems that I've been really tired when trying to e-mail and post on groups. Hmmm....guess it's a good thing I haven't tried to sew yet... However, hubby did take me to a local fabric store and it was great! Very overwhelming so I will have to go back when I have time and feel a little more settled. |

My son and his family moved to Virginia Beach in December. If you like music, the open air concerts, during the summer, are very enjoyable in the evenings along the boardwalk.

Thanks, Luv2sew! We're in northern Virginia in the metro D.C. area, but a trip to Virginia Beach just might be the ticket for later this year. |

I was born and raised in Chesterfield County (Richmond) but I lived 18 years in New Hampshire. I came back and live just 3 minutes from where I grew up. I love Virginia. It is great to see 4 seasons again instead of the two New Hampshire has (very shot summer, a very, very long winters). Hope you love it here as well and if your are near Chester check out WalMart for fabric. They are great. Welcome again! |

Thanks for the welcome, Gm23237! We're in northern Virginia and I think we're going to like it here. This is beautiful country--we especially enjoyed the drive through the southwestern part of the state. I agree that having the 4 seasons will be nice. In Texas, we had summer and winter--mostly summer. I like warm/hot weather, but I really missed having a fall so this year it will be nice to see the changing of the leaves and true fall. |
