We are having our third grandchild in June in Bermuda. I have made flannel quilts for the new babies. These quilts are 6 inch squares of flanelette on one side with a flanelette back. I tie them with yarn rather than quilt them. I would like to make an extra special one if the new baby is a boy ( I have a girl's one ready). Any ideas? Carole in Canada |

Carol How wonderful to have a baby in Bermuda! Can you get to Bermuda easily? Where is Canada do you live? As I write this we have had about 8" of snow so far today and much more on the way and I am dreaming of a place like Bermuda. My grandchild will be born in Aug in Toronto. I am just finishing 2 flannel quilts for nephew's childrens, which I am going to quilt as stitch in the dish. I pulled my much wrinkled one page instructions out and see it labeled as Sashed Squares - try Google "AZ Blankets 4 Kids Quilt Pattern". I printed mine some time ago, but recall that there were a lot of children's quilts. Good luck and let us know what you decide. *~*~*~* Nancy*~*~*~* " I try to take one day at a time - but sometimes several days attack me at once."

What about some Minkee ??? Make it all small squares or one LARGE one, with a different color back. (blue/white, blue/green) and just outline quit it (ie...shapes instead of each block...or make squares on the quilt and make shapes inside or applique animals).
