well..got my outlets fixed...$85 for a 10 min 2 wire change...(fixes 3 outlets my husband thought he could fix, he would 'let' me....) The new stove top is going in on fri...so far it's all under warranty. (keep your fingers crossed it stays that way...) The dishwasher only needs a $10, 3 peice plastic part, will be here tomorrow. (I can do that in about 10 mins) I fiinally managed to get a hold of ATT...they never sent us bills for Oct, Nov or Dec. So I switched to Sprint, but they refused to give Sprint permission to take our acct. So spent an hour on the phone today with someone in a foreign country trying to explain I don't want ATT. I tried to get their attention months ago, but they didn't want to be bothered then, I don't wanna be bothered with THEM now. Now if I can get that mystery stereo OFF, before I kill someone. Find a new red kettle (to replaced the one that melted the stove..which is weird). Get some peace and quiet for a change...I might be able to sleep. Then I might get some UFO's done too... (and find a way to keep Mr Mikey (the deaf ferret) from digging the litter OUT of the potty boxes...yeah right.....) I might go see my sister.... If all is well with the house and ferrets I can leave. I need a vacation...beside's I haven't been able to see her since 2003. (before all my ferrets got sick and died.) ::hoping mode:: Chrys

Chrys...had a similar experience talking to someone in India about my flight to Arizona (Delta). Took about 1/2 hour for something that should have been about 5 minutes and had to keep asking for repeats because I could not understand her. Not knowing the time of day the stereo is causing grief but thought maybe you could go for a leisurely walk around the neighborhood and find where it is the loudest and possibly that would help to pinpoint the location. Of course, not something you would want to do in the middle of the night. Good Luck!! Luv2sew

Well I can only walk at night..I've been walking neighborhoods since Aug 04, night and day (when it's cloudy). It's infrasound. I can hear it in my house, my garage, my neighbors houses and they can hear it in mine, but we can't find it. My house vibrates to the sound and no authorities will help me, been through that, had the newspaper do a story, nothing...can't move, have to take drugs so I don't kill..it's wonderul. Sound engineer said it's in a basement...thats nice...who's ??? Hahahahahahahaha...I know more about my town, the people who run (or don't run) it than I really needed to know. I also know more about my ears than I need to know. (when you live it, you don't need some Dr telling you what you hear and why...and why he can't help you, except MOVE away from the sound...) But thanks..anyway...I'm gonna win the lottery and move away...(at least I keep playing the lottery in that hope...) Chrys

Basement????? in your area??? Isn't the water table too low for basements over there? The young man behind me built a small house in back of his house and uses it for a music room. Maybe there is something like that in the neighborhood. The police here will answer calls of this nature and have them lower the volume. I will be hoping you win the lottery too BUT remember .... buy a ticket Luv2sew

Yep...they call them basements....you actually walk OUT the back of the house thats built on a 'hill'...or out the front, if the house is built BEHIND the hill...yeah...likes theres hills in FL. But this IS a town thats UP above sea level, the water table IS high, but the builders here have decided if you can make some fool buy a house where the water runs down the driveway into the garage or the backyard drops OFF to nothing, well it's money well spent to build the house. (we were not fools enough to buy one of those...we live on a FLAT street. That way our septic tank doesn't back up into the street when it rains...like the next street over...smells nasty and yet no one does anything about it. I find that odd...but then I find a lot of things in FL odd.) I was listening to a conversation once where these poor people (who didn't bother to get a house inspector), bought a new house. (newly built). They were putting up their own gutters when the husband's ladder went through the soil (sand..there is no dirt in FL). He tried to get out and they had to dig him out...seems he fell into a STREAM running under the house, that NO one bothered to tell ANYONE about. So they're stuck with a house, with a stream running under it, can't stop the stream, can't sell the house, can't live in the house, because of the stream. I don't know if they went to court. ( I was eavesdropping on a conversation in Wally World). I would have liked to have heard the end of the story...as in...did they get their money back....? Builders here have a sense of humor....they like to make you pay for things over and over again...and if you don't say the words, 'law suit', they won't right the wrongs. (been there, done that). Kath (off her soap box now... ) Chrys

Chrys, I have the same problem with a stereo here, and I've found a solution that helps me get to sleep - I started listening to classical music at night, it doesn't have a "beat" to it and somehow, miraculously, it overrides the vibrations of the mystery stereo. Any kind of music with a beat in it I can't listen to, it seems to pick up the mystery stereo even more - but the classical works. I'm the type of person that likes perfect quiet when I'm trying to sleep, but I've been falling asleep just fine listening to classical - maybe because my mind doesn't try to sing along? Not sure, but it works! Just thought I'd let you know. Allie "onward through the fog"

I can't listen to music in my house anymore...and I can't wear earphones. I keep an aircleaner next to my bed...take Ambien. (I also have the bed up off the floor with rubber mats, doesn't work very well if the whole house vibrates, walls and all...) I'm going to lawyer next week and see what she says...I might have to sue the city/county.. Thanks though...after nearly 2 yrs of trying to find the thing and trying to get help, I'm gonna try the suit, route... Chrys
