Your top thread should show some on the bottom in embroidery. It should look like a halo around the outside of the bob bobbin threads (at least on a monogram). When you say the bottom looks good, is there a color outline from the top on the bottom?

Its pre-set in the machine. I have a janome memory craft 9500....someone told me it could be the wrong size needle....I have never monogrammed or emboridered on anything...so im new to all this....thanks for getting back with me....the bottom side looks like it should...the top looks as if the stitching is skipping...just looks awful....im using a light weight cotton material to try this on...and i did use a stablizer....when i tried it on a thick material, it looked good....im just lost in all this...lol....

Try a 70-75 sharp needle and stabilize it well. See if this helps. I don't use very rarely use ball point needles when doing embroidery, even in t-s because a sharp goes through the embroidery thread so well. I never use a universal.

Make sure that you are using stabilizer and not interfacing (I'm sure you are, but there is a real difference).

[COLOR=Purple] :monkey: I have the Janome 9000 memory craft. I have times that this happens I find that the stabliizer isn't enought.....and If possible, when all else fails, i use the same color top and bottom, gets rid of the problem, is this the right way,,,,,,,,i don't know but it works for me.
