We just found out we are getting the company condo for a week at the end of March.
I'm excited just to get away and relax and even more excited to get my husband away and relaxing. He has a lot of work related stress -- which is probably why the company has condos for its employees.
So, does anyone know anything about Kure Beach, North Carolina and the surrounding area?

Dorothy,
Kure Beach adjoins Carolina Beach and both are right outside Wilmington, NC .. This is just above the NC/SC state line.. If you love seafood , you will be in Heaven.. There are so many things to do and places to see, I suggest you Google NC tourism, and see what you can find.. Icannot think of the url for the website right now.. (I see it all the time on TV, I'm having a senior moment)) Weather should be great... Warm days, cool nights but not cold..You could also request info from Kure Beach COC, of course.. I know you will love it.. Great time of year to be there also, .. before all the summer tourists crowd in.. But I do not mean it will be deserted.. It never is any more.. Canadians keep our coast busy all year round any more..

I did look at the web site, Libby, and I'm really getting excited.
We love seafood and warm spring weather sounds so good.
We want to take some day trips inland to see more of the state. Any suggestions?

Dorothy,
Give me a day or two to check out mileage and I'll get back to you on the sightseeing.. The Mountains are too far away.. (500 miles) or close to it.. But they are worth a trip to see.. Specially when the Rhododendrens are in bloom.. March is too early for that.. And of course the fall color cannot be matched anywhere.. But back to March.. (time for azalea festivals) and arts and craft shows in gardens in the south.. I'll get back to you..
I'm back.. Check this website out, Dorothy..
www.visitnc.com Lots of good ideas there and good general info also..

Thanks for the link. I'll do some exploring over the weekend when my husband is at work. He has been off work, bored and a real pain for two days now. I even missed my deadline for work because he keeps interrupting. I'll be glad when he gets back in school.
On the upside he did buy me a couple books and even sent me a heads up that there is a sale at Hancocks Fabrics tomorrow.
He must be bored.
