Well, I finally had enough time to actually sit down and watch the DVD that came with my CE100 E-Machine. Oh my goodness, I feel so stupid--but I also feel a bit more confident! I understand what some of my problems I was having probably were related to. When I did Sarah's diaper bag although it turned out OK, the stitching was a bit loose but not to the point that it wasn't usable. I chalked it up to needing ALOT of practice and trial and error. I like the DVD b/c it tells you what needles/thread/stabilizer to use on different types of fabric as well. The part that made me feel like a real dummy was when they said not to use the same thread in the bobbin as you use on top!
I did poke around Hancocks this afternoon and luckily, I suppose, hubby and Sarah were out in the car waiting for me so I didn't have enough time to do alot of damage!

Good going girls!!! Now, the other thing you should do is somehow manage to get a printout of the actual manual that is on the Cd with the software. I took mine to work and printed it out as I have a laser printer at work and it would have taken my poor little Hewlett Packard printer 2 hours to print it out and used probably an entire black ink cartridge.

Actually I have a notebook that i try to keep all my info (manuals, etc) and also any tidbits of notes I've written down. Printing out that manual is a great idea. I hadn't thought of that so thank you SOOOOO much for that suggestion.
Gina--I have that DVD stuck right in my notebook!! I am sure I'll use it often. I played around with the machine a bit after watching the video and things seemed to go better.
