Laura (Bridesmom),
Thanks for the suggestion of using wooly nylon to serge finish the edges on my reversible jacket.
It looks great!! I didn't even have to mess with the tension. I did make the stitch as wide as possible.
This has me thinking of other interesting things to do with the serger.
All I have to do now is put my pockets on the jacket and it is finished. I'll do that today. It took me a while to get going on this because my husband was hanging out around the house with nothing to do and was driving me nuts.
If I can find a photo place to post a picture I will. I'm very pleased with the way this is turning out.

Dorothy glad to hear your jacket is turning out so well. I'm also gald to hear that my dh is not the only one that drives his wife nuts hanging around the house without a project of his own to work on. I tried all last week to get 2 simple skirt patterns and a jacket cut out so I can start sewing on them and I finally got the pattern on the lining to one of them just tonight after we came home from church. If he bugs me all this week like he did last week, I'm going to shut him and the dog in the back yard together every evening.

After almost a week of not being able to sit and play on the forum I have been going stir crazy. Dorothy I'm glad you liked the wooly nylon, looking forward to seeing a picture. How about we all send our husbands over and lock them into Patsy's back yard with her Dh and the dog! I'm on day shift now, and you'd think the poor man had been grossly neglected. I can't get anything done without, where are you, what are you doing, aren't you done yet??? Course if we do that to poor Patsy, she is going to have to bring all her sewing stuff to our places and camp out with all those men in her back yard!!!

Good plan ladies! Send all the men to Oklahoma City and we'll all meet somewhere and sew to our hearts' content. Speaking of which, my Tuesday night church quilt group has arranged a 2nd Saturday Sew-In with our church. Yeah!!! We can sew all day where the men can't bug us except by cell phone and then all we have to do is turn them off! :dave:

That sounds perfectly lovely Jan and Patsy. Sometimes it gets so frustrating, work and hubby's really get into the way of my sewing plans. I guess its a good thing though, otherwise I may become a hermit, sewing away day by day in the basement, almost brings to mind the mad professor idea, or Igor!

Dorothy (also my dear Mom's name  ), go to www.photobucket.com and sign up for a free photo album account. I did it just for the purpose of being able to post pics just for SWN's forums. I think you'll like it.

As for forlorn and lonely men walking around needing to be entertained...well, that's not usually my problem. My SO and I work different schedules-he's Mon-Fri with weekends off, I work weekends, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I do babysit my 15 month GS at least one day a week, and run my daughter around on errands on another day of the week, which leaves me ONE day to do housework, my own errands, and bowl. I'm finding myself getting pretty tired everynight, leaving very little energy and motivation to do any sewing. I would love to have a day free in which I can just zone out and sew... :bg:

Well Jan, now I don't feel so bad as I still have my SIIL's Christmas present sitting on my cutting table, though I haven't really done much with it, but move it from one side of the table to the other!
