Well, I took the plunge and bought the White 4400 Embroidery Machine. This is an upgrade for me from the Brother PE 150/Simplicity Smart Box that I had. Now I don't have to use a converter box to stitch my designs. I just plug it into my laptop and off I go. This machine came with a decent digitizing software program (draw back though - you have to have your machine plugged in to use the software). It allows you the ability to add text to graphics, to change colors, to resize the degins, etc. all at the touch of a button. It also can automatically adjust for the density of stitches by selecting the fabric type you are using. I think the biggest plus of this Machine/Software was the fact that if you lose your place, you can actually go back to the exact stitch. Trust me....the old Brother PE couldn't come close the fuctions of this one.

Basically it has a lot of the functions that a high end model has, except you have to be connected to your PC. I bought it for $599 at JoAnn's. Have already stitched a couple of things. It's a great little machine for people that are on a "little" budget.
