Robinson-Anton, Mettler, Guttermann, Isacord, YLI/Yenmet (from OESD), Madiera, (Sulky shreds on my machines...but many others like it). Stay away from cheap (Coats and Clark, 'store brands') thread. It will NOT be good for your embroidery or your machine. (too much lint = trips to the repair people....make sure you keep canned air or a small vacuum around to get the lint out of the bobbin race...keeps you and your machine happy). Chrys

When I asked that same question here I got the answer that each machine likes different threads. So what I did was go out and buy a spool of the cheapest I could find and then work up from there. I have no problems with Sulky or Coats and Clark. the only thread I have had any real trouble with is Madeira and I think that was because it was a spool that I had bought while in Germany over three years ago. It broke a lot but still gave me a pretty nice design.

I like both ARC ( www.melcomart.com ) and Marathon ( just google marathon thread, there are about 7 marathon sites) both of these brands are nice threads priced very reasonably... MO life is too short, not to explore
