Thought I'd share the t-shirt dresses I made for my dgd, the pillow for my dgs and the wall hanging I made. Wish my camera took better pictures though...some of the colors are so much better than what they show....

Cute t-shirt dresses, did you embroider the pictures onto the t-shirts too? I noticed that the picture and fabric match perfectly, very professional looking. One of these days I'll get really into the machine embroidery but don't have enough time now. Your wall hanging (irises) is really nice too. Thanks for sharing your pics.

You've been a busy lady, and you've done a really good job with it. My Mom used to make t-shirt dresses and I loved them for traveling. They were so comfortable (and I never willingly wore dresses).

Thanks everyone. I had a great time making those little dresses and my dgd was very excited when I took them over to her! Jen, I picked those t-shirts up in Target, one had the applique already on it but the white t-shirts only had a small flower at the neckline so I just picked up some appliques and put them on. Wish I had an embroidery machine, I'd be doing it myself. I just lucked out with everything matching and I used fabric from my stash to do all the skirts-doesn't take much at all for a little girl!

Very nice work, Lyn.
Where did you get the pattern for the 'iris'? Is it paper-pieced?
Take care,
Donna

Hi Lyn....I have the pattern for the little easter fabric baskets and I was just wondering if they are as easy to make as they look?

Hi Donna, yes the Iris's are paper pieced. I picked the pattern up at the sewing & craft show in January here. Can't find a web site listed on the pattern but here's the other info: Mary Herschleb Designs, 288 Appaloosa Ct., Hudson, WI 54016 Phone #715-549-5395 They had many to choose from and I bought 3 or 4 patterns while I was in that booth.

Mariellen, are you talking about the fabric basket I made? It was very easy, 2-12" pieces of fabric (same or contrasting), light weight batting and some ribbon. Layer the fabric and batting, stitch around leaving an opening to turn, stitch the opening closed, place the ribbon (I think I went about 3" in from all 4 sides) stitch it on and tie the sides. Very quick and easy! These are not the ones that are all zigzagged together like the fabric bowls.

Thanks for the kind comments. I really enjoy making stuff for others an am always happy when they turn out!

Donna, I went and googled the designer for the Iris wall hanging - here's the web site:

Lyn,

I enjoyed seeing all your work. You have been a busy girl and I am sure your GD will be excited when she gets the dresses. Your quilts are beautiful and I especially like the iris wall hanging. My real live iris has 4 buds which are about to bloom. It is the first time so I don't know what color they are going to be.

My sister and I made seven of the baskets and I will be taking two to AZ for my DIL and GD with some treats in them.

Thank you for sharing.

You have made some really great stuff, Lyn! The dress is adorable-I especially like the colors. I love my grandson to pieces, but sometimes I wish he were a she--but only for sewing purposes!!!!! The pillow is beautiful, but your quilt is to die for!! Great job on all of it, and thank you so much for sharing your creations with us! It's inspiring!

Thanks everyone. Those baskets whip up in no time! To add interest I've sewn the ribbon on with some of the decorative stitches on my machine but you can simply do a zig zag or straight seam down each side of the ribbon. I love making stuff for the grandkids but really enjoy doing the quilts-most of them have gone to the grandkids, of course.
