Okay...so the batting goes all the way to the edges of the quilt and you sandwich that between the binding strips, right?
All of the pictures I am pulling up, dont have the batting to the edge (or at least you can't see it..) and I just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing..
My batting is to the edge...

TIA!

It depends on how close your line of stitching is to the edge and what is the finished width you planned for your binding. For example, if you look at step 6 of link below, they say to sew 1/4" from the edge and there is batting and backing extending past the front edge. Then on page 2 in step 7 they say to trim batting & backing to 1/2" from the stitching line which would have the batting and backing extending over the edge. You would get approx. a 1/2" finished binding.

Or you could sew the binding a 1/2" from the edge and still end up with a 1/2" finished binding. Don't know if this helps....

Judy I read your previous post and followed the link you gave. It is wonderful. I know that I would need to use it in the future, so I added it to my favorites list.
Although the advice was requested by Stephanie it cleared up many things I was in doubt about. I appreciate it .Thanks.
Leila.

Trini, glad the info could help. I've done the same...learned from someone else's question.
