Yesterday, I purchased for myself a HUSQVARNA VIKING SCANDINAVIA 400 SEWING AND EMBROIDERY MACHINE.
Does anyone have this machine?
I am not sure I will keep it?
Already having high flustration and anxity with it!
I just did not first embroidery design and the bobbin thread shows through to the top of the work! I know this can not be correct.
HELP!
Have a Good Day!
Brenda

Brenda, I don't have your machine or know anything about it, but I can tell you that machine embroidery has a learning curve. How steep or not the learning curve is depends on your machine. If you purchased your machine through a local dealer, my first and best suggestion would be to see if free lessons came with the machine and, if so, take them. Proper stabilizing, proper thread usaage are all essential to good embroidery. Hope this hleps your frustration just a little bit. Also, if your machine comes with a video, cds or dvds, take time to sit down, listen, look and learn.

Did the dealer test drive it for you before it left the shop? If not, take it back and have him make the first adjustments. Embroidery is not at all like sewing. When you embroider your top thread should be loose enough to frame the bobbin side of the design. It is always possible that the bobbin case meeds a little adjustment from the factory so let him do it. Most of your adjustments will be made on the top tension and right now that appears to be where your adjustments need to be. My machine adjusts from 0-900 for tension. I usually embroider with the tension on about 200 down to 125 for top tension. When I sew it is set about half-way.

Ok, after 5 stressed out days, I finally have my software downloaded. The company worked so hard to get it to me. For not being able to talk directly to me, they did a great job! I love my new software and would recomend it to anyone! It's inexpensive and easy to use once you get the hang of it. (Make sure to use their test period first to make sure you are going to be able to understand it). Ok, I have to go play now!

I think I am getting the hang of this machine. Yes indeedy, there is a learning curve! And I think I am in the deep turn now!
Thank you Patsy and Pam for your advise.
After three tries, the machine seems to be embroidering now.
The only thing I changed was the presser foot pressure from 4 to 3. Don't know if that has anything to do with it pulling the bobbin thread up to the top.
Yes, the machine did come with lessons and I am scheduled for April. But I can not wait to use it for that long.
They said it was ready to use.
I purchased it from a Husquvarna Viking Vendor at the "Sewing and Quilt EXPO" this past weekend. If you ladies get a change to go to this show when it comes near you. Don't wait...GO! It is great! A lot of info and things to buy of course. The following had booths and machines set up for demo and hands on experience. (Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff, Brother, Bernina, Singer, Janome and BabyLock. It was sewing machine heaven!!!

Another questions. Does anyone know of a Husquvarna Viking Chat Room online?

Thank you again..everyone.
Have a Good Day!
Brenda
