I've just posted some pics I took of a few of the items I've made in the past few months. I made an "retro" Hawaii'an style shirt for my SO using the McCalls' pattern 4518. He's the first adult I've ever made something for, and it fit him perfectly the first time! Wooo Hoooo!! There are also a couple of pics of a fleece blanket and furry pillow that I made for my adorable GS, who is now 15 months old....and a pic of him too!! Hope you like!

Thank you all very much! I still consider myself a beginning sewer, maybe an advanced beginner. I'm making a 2nd shirt with the same pattern for my man, and I'm hoping I have enough of the material left to make the same kind of shirt for my "Little Guy", so that he and Grandpa will have matching shirts! Later on I'm hoping to be able to make some cafe curtains for my DD's new apartment (if her landlord gives me the okay to do it).

Again, thank you for the nice compliments!

haha...My sewing area is in my bedroom..and a complete mess. I have to dig all around to find stuff. I've gotten pretty used to it though.

LadySloPoks,

You projects look great! And, for an "advanced beginner", you sure have a lot of sewing stuff, but boy is it organized! I have to sew in my diningroom and try to keep it as neat as possible. Everything I'm not using has to be stored away. This works most of the time unless I don't think of something I need. Then I've got to go diving to find whatever I need. Your sewing corner looks so organized.

Ladies, I have to admit that, to me, my area looks really cluttered and cramped! My desk is in the what is supposed to be the eat-in area of our kitchen. The very back of the desk serves an extra panty space for our cereals, crackers, cookies, etc. I do like to keep everything put away so when I get back to sewing, I know exactly where it is (also keeps my hobby from "traveling" all through the house!). I remember as a kid that my late Daddy's hobbies could be seen everywhere, even spread out on the dining and coffee tables. While my mom and I never said anything, I knew it was an inconvenience to her at times. Now that I'm a Grandma who frequently babysits her adorable little GS, I HAVE to keep the stuff put away to prevent him from getting hurt. Besides, when I am sewing...well, it tends to look like a tornado came through the kitchen...
