I have a Pfaff Tiptrontic 2030. I took the housing off where the light bulb is and now I cannot get the housing to go back on. I've checked the manual, it just says to remove it but nothing about how to get it back on. I thought it would just snap back in place but there must be a trick to it. (I called the Pfaff dealer - 30 some miles away - to be told she never removes it because she can't get it back either, and to bring it in and if the repairman is there and isn't too busy he might be able to put it back). Any suggestions, short of duct taping it?

I have a Pfaff 2044. My housing was loose from Day 1. I never took it off, it was just loose. I tried and tried to close it but it was always loose and hanging open. Finally, at Christmas time it had to go in for repairs. The repair lady fixed it.

The face plate is held in place by one screw that comes down from the top. To access it you have to lift the carry handle to the up position. With the handle lifted the access hole is visable. I think it is a Torx 25. In replacing the face plate make sure the clip slips up under the screw.
Have fun or don't do it, Tom

I think I tried that but maybe now that I think of it, it was the lid I had opened, not the handle. I'll try that when I get home. I just could not get the plastic half circle thing to slip between the space of the screw. I even thought about trying to loosen the screw but I'm not that brave.

Thank you

Tom,

Thank you so much. I finally got it on there! After calling 2 shops that sell Pfaffs and being told I should "never, never take that part off" (even though the manual tells you to take it off to change the bulb) I'm relieved to find someone that would tell me how to fix it instead of just lecturing me.

Thank you again.
