Hi, I am now making some unlined curtains with tabs. My question is is it best to interface the top of curtains when I put on a tab? Before I was working with lined curtains & it had enough fabric to hold the tabs. Thanks Valerie

I didn't interface the ones I made but it was very heavy fabric. I am getting ready to make somme for my mom's apartment and am going to interface them because it is a cotton fabric.

This didn't use interfacing either.

Tab curtains don't necessarily need interfacing in the tabs themselves or the top part just below the tabs. Have made quite a few & they turn out just fine. Jean

Hi, thanks for the comments. When you say inferface below the tab, what do you mean? My straps are single & then fold over. Do you mean put some interfacing on the front tab or both? Valerie

No I mean just below all the tabs, sometimes, depending how crisp you want the long flounce part of the fabric that is below the tabs to hold their shape to come forward or backward in between the tabs will you put the interfacing. In my case I would be using mostly crinoline aka buckram. Just depends on the style desired.....how you want them made.....look you want.

Does this make sense?
