I'm looking for a type font that looks like embroidery. I want to create some print items but I'm having a hard time finding fonts like this.

I don't exactly know what you mean. Do you mean that you want it to have stitches or are you saying that you want it to match those in your embroidery project? Either way, one of the best places to look for fonts that I have found is Dafont.com. You'll find tons of free, charityware and fonts that can be purchased there. My software will pick up any true type fonts and digitize them so they are usable so I guess I cheat.

A few more places for fonts:

I found a great site that sells their fonts which are great for embroidery www.letteringdelights.com. Their prices are really reasonable and have some adorable fonts.

Pam
thanks for the font links
I just purchased embird Font Engine...I am thrilled beyond words....the only lettering I did before was fron the few alphabets i purchased and some that I had that you have to put together yourself...Anyway Thanks
I had the 'momscorner' one but I LOVE the DaFont one...you can submit letters then see what they will look like in each font..Very Cool
You don't happen to know any sites where the monogram fonts are free???
Guess that sounds greedy  oh well thanks again

I purchased Monogram Wizard Plus for fancy monograms. Between that and the Artista V4 I really don't need much. However, I know that there are several misc. free things here that you might investigate. Enrollment in the forum is free. They've been having a little problem with the server here over the last couple of days so if you have problems, wait a few and try again. The members of the forum digitize these and post. I don't often download so I'm not sure what is there but I suspect there are fonts.

I get newsletters from embroidery arts and artistic thread works. Both send out free embroidery samples weekly and I think embroidery arts is doing a monogram alphabet. I am not saving them so I am not positive, but I will keep a watch out for the next newsletter and send you a note with the right address.

Phyllis, I just got another newletter this morning from My Embroidery Haven and they also have a monogrammed alphabet that they have been giving away each newsletter. I don't know if you can go onto the website and get the previous letters or not, may be worth a shot though. They look quite pretty.

You can join the Yahoo Group and all of the letters given out so far are in the design file. Here's the address of the group:
