There isn't enough traffic over in Home Decor so I'm posting what I did to the skirt panels of the bedspread I'm making. It took me quite a time to figure out what I thought I should do and would like some opinions on my procedure. :nervous:

I cut the lining the same as the fabric, sewed the floor edge right sides together, turned it right side out so that I have a 1/2 inch of the fabric turned up at the bottom, serged the top and foot ends wrong sides together. The top will be turned under and hemmed; and the foot panel will be attached to the center panel. I think I'm okay so far.

Thanks Lyn,

I can't believe how difficult I find figuring these things out.

That sounds like it will be really nicely done. Can I ask why you lined the skirt?

I thought I was supposed to. I have never seen a custom made spread. Aren't they lined? Well, it looks nice, traditional or not. :bluewink:

I don't have a bedspread so I can't tell you, and I've never looked very closely at one. I think I was just reading - skirt and was thinking about the bedskirts that you put between the mattresses. Not that it matters either way!!!!

Wow, I am glad you posted this because I am going to have to do this same thing here soon!! Sounds like you have thought of every thing. I have painted my bedroom a pretty pail orange, mh says its creamsicle. But now I cant find a bead spread or curtains to match it, LOL. Hopefully I wont have to make one, I like making kids clothes too much to break away from it for mear decoration purposes!!!

I like making kids cloths

I have two little granddaughters that I would like to sew for, but have to finish this project. I still have two sets of drapes, two upholstered valances, a table cloth, and a few pillows to go. Of course, :nervous: I will have questions on them all except the pillow!

Yeah, I work a full time and part time job so sewing is a treat for me. I just sew away when I get the free time and often lose track of the time I get so into it. But hubbie just got a raise and I am only going to work both until I can get the savings built up pretty good, then I get to retire (hahaha) from the PT one and then retire from FT after baby next year!!! Then I will sew and sew and sew and sew :bg:
