I purchaced a used model a couple months ago and was wondering about the purchace of needles. I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has.

With the machine came a couple packages of Bernina brand 287 needles in a cople different sizes. Does anyone know af a source where these could be purchased in quantitiy? Maybe a hundred at a time? Do they have to be Berninas, or will Organ brand suffice? And just out of curiosity, what does "287" refer to?

THey are available here. I don't know if this is the best price out there. This computer doesn't let me see my "favorites" so I don't have the machine needle company that is supposed to be so good. Perhaps someone else will post a good link.

Hi! I have a Bernina 950 and use needles that I got on e-bay and they work fine. They are Groz-Beckert 80/12 needles. They are actually a size 10 needle. I bought them for around $15.00 for 100 of them. Just type in industrial sewing machine needles and a bunch of sellers come up. Good luck!

I get my 950 needles from http://www.universalsewing.com/ (Universal Sewing Supply)

They don't have an online catalog, just the contact information for the paper one, but they're great folks to deal with and good prices on Groz-Beckert needles.
