I believe there is a spray paint you can also use. Nancy's Notions carried it.

I painted 24 bags last summer,1st I primed them with a white primer, then painted the picture on each one. Then I sprayed with a couple of coats of finishing spray...You can use glossy or matte...your choice... |

Was the primer spray or did you brush it on? My bags are a light tan color. I don't think the white would look good. I am sure they have a clear one or no? Did you use a pattern? I don't know if graphite paper works on fabric. I have iron ons too. Thanks for your help. |

Sorry I took so long to answer. The primer was a waterbased ceiling paint that I brushed on..Then I put my base color on which was beige.I then laid on the transfer(carbon) paper and drew the pattern...I proceeded to paint in my case it was patterns of honey bees and hives..After all was painted i sprayed a couple of times with Americana sealer/finisher,letting dry between sprays...Hope this helps....I got the patterns from a tole painting book....vic |

Thank you so much. That really helps. I might paint flowers or apples. I think I have some base color but need to go and get the primer and sealer. Our weather here lately has been awful and it is hard to get out when you have small children. |
