COC/WOW(cream on cream or white on white) is the theme for this month, you must e-mail me your address to <email address removed for privacy> if i do not have it already, and if the e-mail is different from where you are sending make sure i get that too, as i will be using that e-mail to do the forwarding.

this is decentralized, so i will be sending you the names and you will be sending fat q's in 100% cotton that are approx. 18 X 22 to all those on the list.

i will be sending the list out to all involved by the 2nd of April with mailing date no later than the last week of the month

e-mail me if you have any questions at <email address removed for privacy>

Carman you have mail. I'm working on a scrappy bom that needs white/cream so will use these for the quilt. Think I got enough red in Feb to do the red and have some blue from last year to use too.

I went shopping for fabric for the swap today and found COC very difficult to find...actually I found none. I did come up with a very pretty WOW.

I found some COC. Well, it think it is. If I am wrong please forgive me because I am new to this. This will be my first swap ever. What kind of mailer do you all use to send the fabric? I am going to Wal Mart this week and would like to purchase them.

Lara, I usually fold up my FQ, put it in a ziplock bag (some wrap in saran wrap, some don't wrap at all). Then I use a 6x9 manila envelope to mail in. I picked up a pack of 25 at the $$ store for one of the swaps. I've seen them come in the legal size envelopes too ( the ones you fold paper in 3rds to insert).

Let us know if you prewash or not too.

Welcome to the swap!

It doesn't matter if you pre wash it. I usually will wash my fabric anyways before I do a project. I am very excited to se what I will get in the mail. I love getting mail and have since I was little. Always nice to get something besides bills.

No, Lara it doesn't matter-we just ask that you let us know if it is prewashed so we don't wash it again altho I suspect most of us wash it anyway.

Way to go, Carman!
I'm working on dropping some extra pounds, too.
Don't seem to get past the 13 pounds point.

No wonder 13 is considered an unlucky number!

I'll be watching your ticker...so I can celebrate with you.

Congrats on your weight loss Carmen!!!

I found my fabric. Now I need to cut it out and get the envelopes and I should have them sent out next week. We have had some awful weather and I don't like to take my new DD out in it. It is hard to get anything done outside of the home. Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day so I will go out to the store then.

Your fat Q arrived in the mail today. It's beutimous. I love the little bit extra you did with the address label and Q tag. I might get industrious and follow suit next time around.

Thank you so much for the beautiful Q. This is turning out to be a lot of fun...a little ray of sunshine. I've got future quilt squares dancing in my head.

I sent mine off yesterday. I hope you all like them. This is my first swap. I appologize that some of my fq may have a jagged edge. I was having problems with my rotary cutter and had to use dull scissors. Please forgive me. By the next swap I hope to have some new scissors and a bigger mat because mine is too small for fq's.

Hey Julie,

Your fat q arrived in today's mail. It is beautiful and was in fine shape upon arrival...it did take a long time for such a short distance. I reckon the horses were tired getting started. :whacky:

thanks for letting me know you guys received the fabric..I was getting concerned. My husband mailed them Monday afternoon. It was more than likely after the mail had gone out for Monday so they may have gone out Tuesday..I'm not sure. At any rate, yep, the horses must have been tired!! LOL!!

I do apologize for not getting on line lately but have way to much "life" going on around here. My sister fell two weeks ago and broke her right arm above and below the elbow, she had surgery last week. Mom has been in the hospital again and I have been making a prom dress for a granddaughter. But enough about me....I have received beautiful fabric from Lyn, Judy, Julie and Lara, thanks so much for adding a variety to my stash. My fabric is in the mailbox waiting to be picked up in the morning....everyone enjoy.

Hope you all have a great week!....

Hugs from KY, Becka/Rebecca

Has anyone heard from Keeli or Gina? I mailed mine out 4/6 and they are the only ones I haven't heard anything from. Hoping they aren't lost in the mail.

Hey Bekah,

No apology necessary...so glad to hear you have received the fat q's from several of us. I'm sorry things have been rough on you lately and hope your "plate" lightens up enough for you to enjoy some you time soon.

I still have not heard from Keeli or Gina, either. Sure hope all is well with them. Hopefully they've received our fat q's and have just not been able to make it by to let us know. Life does get busy sometimes.

Hi everybody! Long time no see. Sorry I have been hiding out.
I had a helper in opening my FQs (3 yr old son) and he missplaced the envelopes. I have sitting in front of me 5 FQ. I know for sure that I have from Lyn, Carman, Lara and Julie. The last one is a mystery. There also could be more hiding in the pile that seems to grow on my cutting table. I am going to look through the posts and see who I should have from.
I bought my fabric this morning and I will be cutting it as soon as I find the top of my cutting table. :whacky: It will be coming to you unwashed. Not sure if I will get to the post office with them tomorrow or Friday but either way you should be getting them the beginning of next week.

My 5th one is from Judy. I thought I remembered seeing her name on the top of the pile when I walked past it.
So I still need from Christy, Keeli and Becka.

:bolt: Running off to find the top of my cutting table.

I got your fat q in the mail today. It's very pretty. Thank you. It amazes me we've had no repeats. What lovely quilt squares we can make with all these goodies.

The Crayola Quilt Lessons can be found here (http://www.sew-whats-new.com/quilting/crayon/index.shtml). Joanne is a wonderful teacher.
Each kid did two. One was freehand and the other I traced stencils to make them a coloring book like block. I did one block and the pillow. You can get the fabric crayons almost anywhere. I have seen them at Joann, Walmart, Dick Blick (http://www.dickblick.com/categories/fabriccrayons/), and I think Hanncock and Hobby Lobby. Oriental Trading (http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcweb/application?origin=page.jsp&namespace=browse&event=link.externalProductDetails&categoryId=342679&BP=2110&cm_mmc=Google-_-Froogle-_-Froogle-_-Froogle&sku=56/24) has them in bulk packs if you are thinking about teaching a class.

I used the Pentel brand as I had them on hand from a project my Mom and I did when I was about 14. WOW! 19 yr. old crayons but they still worked. sometimes being a packrat isn't such a bad thing.

Did you all look at my other album? With the fishies? They are the reason I haven't been around much lately. You can also blame them for me being late on the swap. I have spent the last month getting everything set up for these guys. I saw them at Walmart and fell in love. Ever since that moment all my spare time was spent researching and prepaing a home for these fishies. I got to the point of setting up the tank and realized that if I wanted the wall behind the tank painted it would be best to do it first. So then I had to paint my kitchen. By the time I was ready to put them in Walmart had sold or killed all but one. So then I was driving all over San Antonio looking for these fish. Finally found some at a brand new Petsmart. Bought all they had (7). Then a few days later hubby and I went to Walmart and rescued the last one. I couldn't leave him there all alone since it was him and all his brothers and sisters who got me interested in the first place.
So now you know why I haven't been around a lot and why I was late on the swap. You all have been replaced by fish :whacky: .
Oh yeah and to top it all off I started working nights at McDonald's to pay off a credit card that I got a little fabric happy on .
So anyway this is my life. Now I have to find a babysitter for my fishies when we go away this summer :whacky: .

Oh and so this post stays on topic I am still waiting for Christy's and Keeli's.

Boy did my mailbox smile this morning  . Got fabric from Gina and Keeli and no bills.... What a way to start the day! Now just wish I had picked the winning horse in the Derby today....nope, mine came in 3rd, Steppenwolfer.... Oh well...Gina, just remember life happens to all of us. We may be the one late next time. Quilters are supportive group and we understand....

Have a great weekend. My brothers, my sister and I are hosting a birthday party for our Mother who will be 81 on the 16th...so we are praying that the weather will be like today; about 70 with sunshine...

Hugs, Becka
