First let me start out by saying my daughter is very sweet and very obediant (most of the time). SHe knows there are things that are mommies she doesnt touch but last night....

I was cooking on the grill (didnt feel like washing dishes) and sewing all at the same time, so I would get a line done and go check on the food then come back and stishe afew more. My duaghter was playing on the floor and hadnt really paid much attention to me since she was deep in barbie land. I went out one last time to get all the food and come in when my nieghbor shouted over the fence and I had a shotr conversation with her (2mins tops). I came in to find my daughter sewing barbies hair to a colouring book page. SHe had lowered the foot and put the peddle up on the chair and was kneeling on it, and pushing barbie through with both hands!!
Scared me breathless!! But she continued to explain that she coulnd reach the peddle on the floor and how barbies hair was messy so she was "sticking" it flat so she wouldnt have to brush it anymore. THEN she noticed my face and started to cry she was sorry she touched my stuff and she went to yank the barbie up and go to her room and barbies head popped off!!!

The whole thing was rather commical, but she is so scared now she wont walk near my machine.

Just thought I would share a good laugh.

I can see my 3yr old dd doing the same thing. Your dd was just tired of brushing her Barbie's hair. She was resourceful enough to put the peddle up on the chair so she could sew. Ya gotta give her credit - she's got a quick mind.

That you'll have to write down somewhere to save for a long time.

This is too funny! I hope you got photos of the doll so that years from now if she decides to become a sewist she will have a photo of her first project!

Similar thing--I had the regular machine and serger both sitting at the table and going back and forth...my almost 2 yr old came up, climbed in the chair beside me and was "pretending" she was sewing..it was just a cute moment. We did take a picture and I think it's cute how they try to mimics us. Just goes to show that we all have to watch what we say and do...

Thanks for sharing your precious moment with us! It gave me a big smile!

Just goes to show that logical consequences (a form of discipline) is usually the best way for children to learn!

What a resourceful little girl! Funny story. Be sure to write it down and take a picture of the doll..it'll be a treasure later in years. Glad she was ok. And glad mom survived too!
